Olivier Theyskins

Olivier Theyskins was born in Belgium in 1977. He did a 6-month spell at La Chambre Fashion School.

His fashion break came when Madonna fell in love with some of his dresses, shown to her by her stylist. She wore his yellow dress shown here, to the Oscar ceremony in 1999, when nobody had ever heard his name before.

Theyskins first signature collection for Fall 2001, was a great success. Working with a palette where rust replaced black, he took inspiration from 1920's film idols like Jean Harlow and Greta Garbo. Though his dresses were grand and glamourous, the pieces were very wearable.

His masterfully crafted Spring 2002 collection also showed that he is one of the sharpest talents in Paris.

In November 2002, Olivier was appointed Chief Designer at the house of Rochas. His first collection will be Fall 2003. He replaces Peter O'Brien who was with Rochas for 12 years. Click through to Rochas for details.
