Jerome Dreyfuss was born in Nancy, France. in 1974. He has been interested in fashion since boyhood.
He started his career as a teenager as a trainee at John Galliano in Paris moving on to be an assistant to the master at the house of Givenchy. He then worked for two years at the Elite Model Agency looking after their fashion accessories line.
In October 1997 with financial help from an Indian friend, he created his own company and launched his first collection. Isabella Blow, the influential British journalist wore a dress designed by Dreyfuss which caused him to get into the news.
He started to get press nicknames such as "promising angel", or Peter Pan of Fashion. This was mainly because of his looks, a cherubic face and thick curls of hair.
In March 1998 with a small team of 5 people, creates his Autumn/Winter 98 collection of 46 designs ranging from leather, denim to classical gowns. Naomi Campbell modeled his designs without any payment, which gave him good publicity.
In 1999, Jerome Dreyfuss was appointed head designer at the Paris house of Herve Leger, which had been taken over by BCBG Max Azria. Herve Leger himself set up another unit. Dreyfuss is still at Leger designing his unusual creations.
In addition to working at Herve Leger, Dreyfuss also presents collections on his own label.

At the top of the page on the right is an olive green colour leather dress from his Autumn/Winter 2001 collection.
The collection of Autumn/Winter 2001 had Indians dressed in torn animal skins but the outfits were feminine with just a bit of eccentricity.
